Social Media Intern
Reports to: Senior Director of Communications
Compensation: Paid stipend
Type: Part-time internship (10-15 hours/week)
Duration: May or June 2025 (depending on availability) – Aug. 8, 2025
Location: Remote; must attend the 2025 Leadership Institute in Louisville, KY (July 24-27)
Can you tell a compelling story in text, image, and video formats that captures the audience's attention? Delta Upsilon Fraternity seeks qualified candidates to join its team for summer 2025 as a Social Media Intern.
As the Social Media Intern, you will work closely with Delta Upsilon’s Senior Director of Communications and Creative Specialist who will provide you with real, hands-on projects and tasks that use social media platforms to promote, manage and share the Delta Upsilon story. Tasks will include content creation, social media management, as well as event management. This position will have flexible hours and the ability to work remotely. The Social Media Intern is expected to attend the 2025 Delta Upsilon Leadership Institute in Louisville, KY as a member of the International Headquarters staff. (DU will cover the cost of travel, lodging and meals for LI.)
Position Responsibilities:
- Assist with the design and execution of social media campaigns
- Create weekly and monthly editorial calendars to promote Delta Upsilon on various social media platforms
- Track social media engagement to identify high-performing ideas and campaigns for scalability
- Support communications team at the 2025 Leadership Institute
- Respond to comments and DMs on social media platforms
- Brainstorm and research ideas for original content
- Create compelling graphics to share across social channels
- Write social media captions
- Help create and edit short-form videos
- Build the Fraternity’s presence on new and developing social media platforms
- Ensure brand message is consistent
- Connect virtually with IHQ staff via Microsoft Teams and Zoom
Qualifications:
- Be a member/associate member of Delta Upsilon International Fraternity
- Experience working with Meta Business Suite, Instagram, Tiktok, Facebook, YouTube and Canva preferred
- Video production experience is preferred by not required
- Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign is preferred by not required
- Excellent writing, editing and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Self-starter, able to work independently
- Sincere commitment to working collaboratively with all constituent groups, including fellow staff, board, members, volunteers, donors, educational program participants, and other supporters
