Happy Founders DAy
Nov. 4, 2021 - Happy Founders Day! On this day in 1834, 30 men at Williams College met to form Delta Upsilon. With non-secrecy and the Principles of Friendship, Character, Culture and Justice as their guide, these men set out to create a group that would provide men with a forum for open discussion and personal development. 187 years later, Delta Upsilon continues to provide college men with a premiere fraternity experience that prepares them for life and the world.
For the sixth consecutive year, the DU Educational Foundation is celebrating the day with its Founders Day of Giving. This giving day is designed to bring in as many gifts for the Foundation's Annual Loyalty Fund as possible and build affinity for the Fraternity. Gifts made to the Foundation are used to fund scholarships, educational programs and other initiatives that allow Delta Upsilon to continue its mission of Building Better Men.
Give to the Founders Day of Giving
For the second year in a row, $1,000 recruitment scholarships are up for grabs during Founders Day of Giving. The chapter that has the most donors and the chapter that raises the most money will both receive recruitment scholarships to aid in growing chapter membership while reinforcing DU's commitment to intellectual growth.
The past two years have been unlike any in Delta Upsilon's history, but the power of DU brotherhood has only grown stronger. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, our undergraduate brothers have thought outside the box to continue fostering friendships, our alumni and advisors have found new ways to mentor, and our Fraternity and Foundation staffs have enhanced our efforts in Building Better Men. To learn more about how Delta Upsilon has remained strong, read our 2020-2021 annual report in the latest issue of the DU Quarterly.
Make sure to follow Delta Upsilon throughout the day Nov. 4 to keep track of our Founders Day of Giving progress. Follow us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
