January 2018 GSI Upcoming Deadlines
Oct. 18, 2017 - Two important deadlines are upcoming regarding the January 2018 Global Service Initiative trip to Jamaica. The GSI scholarship application is due Oct. 20, and trip applications are due Nov. 3.
The Global Service Initiative is Delta Upsilon's international service project and philanthropy. Each year, the Fraternity takes three trips to Jamaica that allow all DUs to participate in hands-on service and values reflection. Trips are held in January, May and June to accommodate varying college/university academic calendars.
The January 2018 trip will take place Jan. 6-13. Registration fees are $250 for undergraduates and $500 for alumni. This is a decrease in registration costs from years past. (Click here to read more.) Registration includes the cost of food, lodging, insurance and all activities. Participants are responsible for their travel to Jamaica, passport and additional spending.
One scholarship for the January trip is available through the Delta Upsilon Educational Foundation, and any undergraduate planning to attend the trip is encouraged to apply. Additional scholarships may be available to certain chapters thank to its GSI fundraising level or alumni support.
If you have questions regarding the Global Service Initiative, contact Director of Global Initiatives Kaye Schendel at schendel@deltau.org.
