LI 2020 Registration Now Open

Feb. 28, 2020 - Registration for the 2020 Leadership Institute is now open! Join Delta Upsilon July 30 - Aug. 2 at the Hilton Disney Springs in Orlando/Lake Buena Vista, Florida, for its biggest event of the year. LI serves as DU's annual convention and features awards presentations, Fraternity business, educational and networking opportunities and more. Priority registration ends June 15, with prices increasing by $50 after that date.

All DU's are encouraged to attend LI, whether an undergraduate or alumnus. Each undergraduate chapter/colony receives two complimentary registrations LI. This covers the cost of registration, select meals, program materials and hotel stay. Attendees must pay for their own travel. In addition to the complimentary registrations, chapters/colonies are encouraged to send more men to LI. As part of the Men of Merit Chapter Standards Program, at least four members must be sent to meet Aspiration. At least two members must be sent for Expectation. At least one must be sent for Minimum. Chapters should work to identify which members will receive the complimentary registrations.

Alumni and guests are also encouraged to attend LI. Programming during General Sessions and meals will provide great networking and learning opportunities for any alumnus. Other alumni programming is available through the Alumni & Volunteer Conference sessions. Chapter advisors will also have the chance to attend the Advisors Academy, which will be held as a part of LI.

Full and partial registrations are available for alumni. Join DU for the full event, just one day or Saturday's Grand Banquet only. Full and daily registrations include hotel, program materials and meals (Thursday dinner, Friday lunch, Saturday lunch and dinner). Banquet only tickets include the cost for Saturday's banquet dinner but not a hotel stay. Guests can be registered on the registration form. Registration does not include travel.

For all attendees, cancellations will be accepted until July 6, 2020. Cancellations after that date will not be eligible for a refund. Undergraduates can send a replacement at no additional cost. 

LI Schedule

The complete Leadership Institute schedule will be announced at a later date. In the meantime, here are important dates to know. 

Thursday, July 30
  • Optional pre-conference programming (including a Regional GSI experience) will take place at 12 p.m. EST. 
  • All undergraduate attendees must attend an Orientation Session and Province Meeting. 
  • The LI Opening and Welcome will take place Thursday evening.
Friday, July 31
  • Educational programming will take place all day for undergraduates an alumni. 
  • The Awards Luncheon will take place.  
  • Undergraduates have the option to purchase Twilight Tickets to a Walt Disney World Theme Park for Friday evening, July 31. 
Saturday, Aug. 1
  • Educational programming will take place all day for undergraduates an alumni.
  • The Philanthropy Luncheon will take place.
  • The Grand Banquet will be held Saturday evening.
Sunday, Aug. 2
  • Unless extending their stay, attendees should plan to travel home, Sunday, Aug. 2. There is no LI programming that day. 

Extending Your Stay

The 2020 LI hotel is the Hilton Disney Springs, a part of Walt Disney World Resorts. With LI registration, attendees are able to take advantage of special meeting/convention rates on tickets to Disney Theme Parks should they wish to arrive to LI early or leave late. After registering, attendees can purchase those Disney tickets online. Guest of the Hilton Disney Springs can also make a reservation through the hotel for its Disney Character Breakfast on Sunday morning. The hotel offers shuttle service for guests to the Disney Theme Parks. Nearby Disney Springs also has a number of unique dining and shopping experiences.

Note: Undergraduates will have the opportunity to purchase Twilight Tickets to Disney for the Undergraduate Outing on Friday, July 31. Undergraduates are expected to attend all LI programming and should not purchase tickets to visit Disney during other LI events.
