Presidents Academy and RLA Registration Open
Oct. 8, 2019 - Registration for Delta Upsilon's 2020 Presidents Academy and Regional Leadership Academy are now open! Undergraduates who plan to run for an Executive Board office for the 2020 academic year should save the dates and register for these programs.
Presidents Academy
Presidents Academy is designed for all chapter/colony Presidents. This 4-day program accelerates the growth and learning of Presidents by emphasizing the mission and Principles of the Fraternity as a foundation for effective chapter leadership. Presidents learn from one another, stretch their boundaries, discover strengths and envision a more successful version of their chapter.
Note that due to when the New Year falls, this year, the 2020 Presidents Academy will be held from Friday through Monday, Jan. 3-6. Attendees will travel to Camp Tecumseh in Brookston, Indiana for this program. Registration fees are covered by grants through the DU Educational Foundation. Attendees must pay for their travel. The Presidents Academy registration deadline is Dec. 6.
Regional Leadership Academy
Each February, Delta Upsilon holds the Regional Leadership Academy in five locations throughout the United States. Chapters/colonies are invited to attend the RLA held closest to them.
- RLA West: Feb. 7-9, 2020; Portland, Oregon
- RLA South: Feb. 7-9, 2020; Atlanta, Georgia
- RLA Northeast: Feb. 14-16, 2020; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
- RLA Great Plains: Feb. 14-16, 2020; Kansas City, Missouri
- RLA Midwest: Feb. 21-23, 2020; Chicago, Illinois
RLA is intentionally designed as an officer training platform to provide tangible skills needed for success as defined by the Delta Upsilon Officer Core Competencies. Both current and future chapter officers are invited to attend this interactive programming, which includes 25 different breakout sessions and five general sessions.
The Recruitment Symposium is held in conjunction with RLA. This program is a track specifically for Vice Presidents of Membership Recruitment. Participants learn recruitment models, best practices and soft skills to help them lead a successful values-based recruitment and selection process within their chapters and colonies.
RLA Registration is $245 per attendee. Travel is not included in registration costs. Each chapter/colony receives one complimentary registration to the Recruitment Symposium. Registration for both programs can be accessed through the same form and are due two weeks prior to the RLA being attended.
Please note that the Advisors Academy will not be held in conjunction with RLA this year. Instead, it will take place at the 2020 Leadership Institute. However, all advisors are invited to attend RLA with their Executive Boards.
