Ways to Give
Online
Giving online at deltau.org/give is the quickest way to support Delta Upsilon and put your generosity to work Building Better Men. Online you can make a one-time gift or set up a recurring gift (monthly, quarterly or yearly). The DUEF accept all major credit and debit cards, and you can also give online through PayPal or Venmo.
In the mail
You can mail a check directly to the Delta Upsilon Educational Foundation at 8705 Founders Road, Indianapolis, IN 46268. Your gift will impact thousands of undergraduate Delta Upsilon experiences through our Annual Loyalty Fund. Indicate in the memo line if you’d prefer to have your gift allocated differently.
Matching Gifts
Companies of all sizes match employer donations, however, 78% of match eligible donors have no idea whether their company offers a matching gift program. Does your company match employer gifts? Go to deltau.org/matching-gifts to search for your employer and have the opportunity to make a larger impact.
Stock Gifts
Because the DUEF is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, gifts of appreciated stock avoid capital gains tax and will provide you with a tax deduction for the full fair-market-value at the time of your gift. Please work with your broker to initiate a charitable stock transfer directly to the DUEF, and notify our Executive Director Justin Kirk at (317) 875-8900 or kirk@deltau.org. Information your broker will need to process the gift is: Delta Upsilon Educational Foundation, A/C # 1051-8517, Charles Schwab & Co. Inc., DTC Clearing 0164 Code 40.
Charitable IRA Gifts
If you have an Individual Retirement Account (IRA) and are age 72 or older, a gift to the DUEF from your IRA is considered a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD). The QCD can be counted toward satisfying your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) for the year, and the QCD is excluded from your taxable income, which may keep you in a lower tax bracket. To fully qualify for these benefits, gifts from your IRA must be transferred directly to the DUEF. This is usually accomplished by requesting your IRA custodian issue a check from your IRA made payable to the Delta Upsilon Educational Foundation; 8705 Founders Road, Indianapolis, IN 46268; Tax ID #: 35-1976226
Donor Advised Funds
The DUEF gladly accepts gifts from Donor Advised Funds (DAF) or Family Foundations, which are an excellent way to both simplify your charitable giving and facilitate your strategic philanthropic goals. Although the tax benefit is provided to you by the sponsoring organization, the DUEF still gives you full recognition for a gift from your DAF or Family Foundation. Learn more and make your gift online at deltau.org/donor-advised-funds.
Honorary and Memorial Gifts
A gift in memory or in honor of a brother or loved one is a remarkable way to leave a legacy for future generations, and gifts of $200 or more to the Annual Loyalty Fund will secure a brick in the Founders Memorial Courtyard at the Fraternity Headquarters. You can also establish a Named Endowment Fund with a gift of $25,000 or more to provide ongoing program scholarships in perpetuity. Contact a member of the DUEF staff or visit deltau.org to explore different ways to make an honorary or memorial gift.
Oak Circle
Each year, DU undergraduates are encouraged to give back through the Oak Circle—the Foundation’s undergraduate giving club. Hundreds of undergraduates join the Oak Circle each year with a gift of $18.34 or more to the Oak Circle endowment, and the dollars raised are directly used to provide educational program scholarships to undergraduates. Undergraduates can give directly to Oak Circle at deltau.org/oak-circle.
